The MMG Graduate Program provides a robust foundation for future career growth by developing talent across critical disciplines ensuring we have a pipeline of both technical and people leaders to support MMG’s growth strategy.
We offer our graduates a two-year work program in which we balance on-the-job experience with a structured development program encompassing technical, safety and leadership skills. MMG graduates are given the opportunity to:
- Gain experience at an Australian operational site, with the potential to experience additional sites through rotations or short term secondments, subject to business needs.
- Develop technical competency through on-the-job training, and access to MMG technical expert.
- Participate in annual development workshops based in Melbourne, which focus on leadership skills and corporate and operational knowledge.
- Participate in the MMG My Performance program.
At MMG, we aim to challenge our graduates to explore innovative ideas, test current practices and display technical and business acumen, actively contributing to MMG’s future.
About our intake
We have now filled all positions for our graduate intake for 2016 and will advertise again here in March 2016 for our 2017 intake.
For 2016, we accepted graduates for Electrical Engineering, Metallurgy, Geotechnical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Finance disciplines.
About your career path
In the second year of the program, graduates participate in a development workshop to prepare them for future roles. They are supported in applying for ongoing employment at MMG operational sites, including our Group Office in Melbourne.
Over time, graduates develop personal preferences that propel their careers towards an advanced technical specialisation, operations management, mining project management, consulting or a Group Office role. In many cases an individual will work across all of these areas, especially if an executive career path is desired.
