About Us

MMG is a mid-tier global resources company which explores, develops and mines base metal deposits around the world.  We are headquartered in Melbourne, listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and have mining operations, projects and exploration activities in Australia, South East Asia, Africa, Canada and South America.  We are one of the world's largest producers of zinc and we also produce significant amounts of copper, lead, gold and silver.

MMG currently owns and operates the Century, Golden Grove and Rosebery mines in Australia, the Kinsevere mine in the Democratic Republic of Congo and the LXML Sepon mine in Laos.

Our Graduate Programme

We offer our graduates a two year work programme whereby we balance on-the-job experience with a structured training programme that develops your technical, safety and self-leadership skills.  Within this programme, graduates rotate through two MMG sites, typically relocating for two blocks, each of 12 months duration.  Our emphasis is on collaboration, teamwork and effective work practices.  Key to our programme is our emphasis on mastering our day-to-day work and safety programme called S-T-E-P.  This programme has numerous components and develops a robust foundation for future career growth.

At the end of the two year work programme, graduates are placed through a career development workshop and supported in applying for ongoing employment within MMG operational sites, including our Group Office.

About Your Career Path

Our Graduates typically move immediately into technical roles in the organisation within their chosen discipline.  Over time, graduates develop personal preferences that propel their careers towards either an advanced technical specialisation, Operations Management, mining project management, consulting or Group Office role.  In many cases, an individual will work across all of these areas, especially if an executive career path is desired.  With one of the highest staff retention rates in the mining industry and a focus on global growth, we believe we are in an enviable position to offer our ‘next generation of industry leaders’ incredible future opportunities

About Applying

Graduate employment applications open in March each year for an approximate duration of four weeks.  Alternatively you can submit an application via our expression of interest form at any time of the year.
