We recognise that diversity is good for business and strive to improve gender and Indigenous balance within the workforce. A comprehensive diversity study is regularly undertaken for our Australian operations covering all employees on the Australian payroll.
Two major programs are in place to attract and retain female employees. These include flexible working arrangements and a talent pool of senior women in mining intended to target senior appointments to improve the gender imbalance and informally extend an internal network of women. More recently an employee-initiated forum was created to look at ways to contribute to workforce diversity, initially focused on women in the workplace.
