Golden Grove has raised more than A$17,000 for breast cancer by taking on a month-long Real Men Wear Pink campaign.
The fantastic result has placed Golden Grove as the number one fundraising team in Australia for the campaign, and in conjunction with Century’s success, has made MMG the top fundraising company.
Three Golden Grove employees have also been placed in the top 10 for individual fundraisers.
Golden Grove ‘Grovers’ are renowned for getting behind a good cause and they did not disappoint. Employees and contractors quickly got behind the project by purchasing pink items such as hi-vis work wear, bags and caps. And it was clear that everyone was man enough to wear pink:
- David Miller, Golden Grove’s enthusiastic Maintenance Planner, dyed his hair, beard and even eyebrows pink, courtesy of the Geraldton Durack Institute of Training; and
- A dump truck kindly donated by the Mining Department was painted a stunning hot pink thanks to the Underground Mobile Maintenance team.
Several events were held onsite during the month collecting cash donations, however, the majority of funds were raised by individual employees.
Stay tuned for future fundraising plans for Golden Grove, including going blue for men’s cancer charities in 2015.
