Century’s community programs support the company's overall commitment to being a welcomed and valued member of the communities in which it operates.
Community consultation
Century strives to work closely with local communities and nearby neighbours through consultation and communication. One program of work that supports this is the Community Perception Surveys which are conducted by each operation to obtain a sound understanding of the views, concerns and aspirations of its communities.
Health programs
Century also has a number of health programs in place as part of maintaining and developing active and healthy communities.

Indigenous relations
Gulf Communities Agreement
Century’s operates under the unique Gulf Communities Agreement (GCA), an agreement between Century, the Queensland Government and the four Native Title groups of Waanyi, Mingginda, Gkuthaarn and Kukatj.
The agreement provides employment, training and small business opportunities; assurances regarding environmental protection; and identification and protection of sites of cultural significance.

Cultural heritage protection
Century understands and acknowledges the people of the Gulf have a special connection to the land they are from, and therefore has procedures and systems in place to protect local heritage and sites of cultural significance.
