Sponsorships and partnerships program
Century recognises that supporting the communities in which we operate is critical to achieving our vision of becoming a great resources company. As part of this commitment, one of our sustainability objectives is to ensure that these communities receive real benefit from our operations.
The community Sponsorship Program is one way that Century can ensure that the communities in which we operate receive real benefits from the operation. However, for this to be effective, it is essential that any sponsorship invested is used for projects that assist with the social, cultural and economic development of the region.
Community sponsorship
Community sponsorship refers to assistance with projects or activities that benefit the communities in which Century operates. These communities are located within the lower-Gulf region and includes Doomadgee Shire, Burke Shire, Carpentaria Shire and Mornington Island Aboriginal Shire.
Partnerships
Partnerships refers to assistance provided for projects and activities in which Century can partner, that align with our strategic objectives and values..
Assistance provided under this program is targeted at projects or activities that raise the profile of MMG and Century within Queensland, and more broadly, the Australian mining industry, as well as commuter communities of Townsville and Cairns.
Applicants are required to fill out an application form outlining the purpose, desired outcomes and audience of the project or activity.
They are also required to describe how the project will be delivered, who will be responsible for its delivery and what feedback the organisation or community group will provide Century.
Application timeframes
Applications for sponsorship are required to be submitted to Century at least six weeks prior to the event.
