Notice regarding Kinsevere copper cathode sales

MMG Limited (MMG) has become aware of several instances where persons are fraudulently representing that they are authorised or “mandated” to sell copper cathode produced at its Kinsevere Mine Site in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The purported  attempts to sell MMG Kinsevere copper cathode have occurred in or from Tanzania and, in some instances, have been done in a sophisticated manner, including through the use of MMG's logos, letterheads  and documentation (including but not limited to bills of lading, analysis certificates, mandate letters etc) which appear genuine but are not.

These attempts to sell are done without MMG's authorisation and prospective purchasers should exercise caution when approached by persons or entities purporting to sell MMG Kinsevere copper cathode especially from warehouse locations in Tanzania or from locations in Africa.

Since MMG commenced ownership of the Kinsevere Mine in 2012, 100% of Kinsevere’s copper cathode production is committed for sale under a single “life of mine” offtake agreement with international metals and minerals trader, Trafigura Group (, for export to global copper markets.
