The remoteness of the Sepon mine site required the establishment of key infrastructure for mining operations.
Supply of power to the mine site is provided from the Namtheun II hydropower station (in the neighbouring Khammouane province).
The main road into the mine site, Road 28A, was upgraded to enable the supply of goods and services to the mine site, and improvements continue to take place.
Telecommunication services in the region were significantly upgraded, and an all weather airstrip was constructed at the mine site to cater for Sepon’s commute workforce.
Sepon’s airstrip is used for commute flights from Vientiane
