Centacare Indigenous Children's Program
A key element in Golden Grove’s life of mine investment agreement with the Shire of Yalgoo is continuing support of Centacare’s Indigenous Children’s Program (ICP).
The program aims to build stronger and more sustainable Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and communities and build culturally strong parenting and support for families.
It began in 2004 as a four-year project and in 2008 Golden Grove committed to extend its financial support for the program.
The program involves a monthly respite day-trip to the nearest regional centre for carers and parents, a weekly playgroup, a community Op Shop, a music program, cooking classes for children, photography workshops, and health based community projects.
