Partnering to promote local employment in the mining industry

In 2025, we partnered with Ferreyros and CETEMIN to host Feria Empleo Peru Minero 2025, an employment fair connecting local people with jobs and training opportunities in the mining sector. The event drew more than 1,200 participants, 84% of whom were women.

1,200 participants attended, 84% were women.

MMG recognises that a sustainable industry depends on strong local talent and clear pathways into mining careers. The fair was created to address this directly, offering a practical, open space where job seekers could explore career options, build skills, and connect with mining companies and training providers.

Delivered through a strategic alliance between MMG, Ferreyros and CETEMIN, the event was designed to reach a broad audience: from students weighing vocational options to professionals looking for specialised training. Strengthening ties between companies, educational institutions, and community networks was central to the goal.

The fair brought together job orientation and recruitment spaces, information booths with real opportunities, industry talks from participating companies and dedicated areas for vocational and technical program promotion. Attendees also had access to on-site career guidance and could register their details for future employability initiatives.

A targeted communications campaign drove strong attendance from students, graduates, training institutions and the wider public. Exhibitor stands were managed to ensure quality engagement, and on-the-ground logisticskept the experience orderly and useful for everyone involved.

The fair delivered strong engagement across the board: more than 2,200 registrations, 1,200 attendees, 84% female participation, coverage from 32 media outlets, five industry talks and workshops, and an MMG-hosted Local Employability session that drew 40 participants and exceeded room capacity. Six percent of attendees came from MMG’s direct area of influence.

Beyond the numbers, the event strengthened partnerships between industry, community and education, raised awareness of real entry pathways into mining, and reinforced MMG’s commitment to local workforce development.
