Local procurement is a practical way we support regional economies and build more resilient supply chains. This table shows the value of spend with local suppliers by site for the reporting period. This table is linked to MMG’s Local and regional development material topic KPI on the proportion of spending on local suppliers.

Local supplier definition: A local supplier is a business/entity legally registered and operating in the same region as the MMG site where goods or services are delivered.
Spend on local suppliers: Monetary value of goods and services procured from qualifying local suppliers, attributable to operational or capital expenditure within the calendar year; reported in USD and based on actual spend (not budget/forecast).
Exclusions: Internal transfers within MMG; salaries; taxes/royalties; community donations; and payments to intermediaries without local business registration.
Currency handling: Figures are reported in USD using MMG’s average exchange rate for the reporting period.
