Exploration
Overview
MMG’s exploration programs are managed and executed by the Company’s regional sites, based on their respective operations. Oversight is provided by MMG’s Head Office technical team.
Exploration at MMG is focused around existing operations at Las Bambas, Khoemacau, Kinsevere, Rosebery and Dugald River. At Las Bambas, MMG is actively exploring 25 x 14km leases for new skarn and porphyry ore bodies, while at Khoemacau, MMG is conducting regional exploration to understanding our tenement holdings of Kalahari Copper Belt. Exploration at Rosebery and Dugald River is focussed on extending the known ore zones and discovering new ones within the existing exploration and mining tenements surrounding each operation. At Kinsevere MMG is exploring for oxide and sulphide mineralisation below the Mash and Central Pits as well as for extensions to its satellite deposits, all within a 50km radius of the plant.
MMG has also recommenced exploration at its 100% owned tenements in Nunavut, Canada at the Izok Corridor Project where extensions to known and new sulphide deposits of copper and zinc are being sought. MMG has also resumed exploring in Zambia after completing detailed geophysical surveys on its 100% owned tenements within the Zambian Copper Belt.
