It is with great sadness that we report the tragic death on Thursday 31 May, Laos time, of Mr Kham Phathithak, Leading Hand Mining Surveyor at MMG LXML’s Sepon Mine.
Mr Kham died following an incident which occurred on site, when the vehicle he was driving was struck by a tree.
Chief Executive Officer Jerry Jiao extended condolences on behalf of MMG.
“We extend our profound sympathies to Mr Kham Phathithak’s family, colleagues and friends during this difficult time.”
MMG is working with local authorities and has initiated an investigation into the incident.
MMG will provide support for Mr Phathithak’s family and counselling and other support services will also be available to his colleagues at the operation.
