MMG Limited (MMG) has announced positive results from its recent exploration program at the Izok Corridor Project (ICP) in Nunavut, Canada. The ICP includes one of the richest undeveloped zinc deposits in the world at Izok and a high-grade copper deposit at High Lake. Mineralisation is hosted in Neoarchean greenstone of the Slave Craton in the Canadian arctic.
“It’s terrific to see such strong exploration results at Izok,” said Catherine Knight, MMG’s Vice President Canada. “MMG wants to play an ongoing and active role in the development of the mineral resources in the region and in doing so, bring new wealth and prosperity to Nunavut, the Northwest Territories and Canada.”
MMG conducted exploratory field surveys and diamond drilling within the ICP. A total of nine fixed-loop electromagnetic (FLEM) geophysical surveys were collected, with reconnaissance mapping and sampling carried out on forty-four ground targets and 6,150 metres of drilling completed. The field activities concluded in September after successfully identifying several compelling mineral targets. Multiple priority prospects for follow up drilling were confirmed including the extension of known mineralisation at the High Lake East prospect and High Lake deposit.
Diamond drilling at High Lake East confirmed the potential of this prospect discovered by MMG in 2010. Nine holes totalling 3,370 metres targeting the southern part of the prospect were completed. Mineralisation has been defined in two steeply dipping tabular and stratabound bodies hosted in a dominantly felsic volcanic succession. The best intersection was in hole HLE-25-36 from 86 metres of 20 metres at 3.2 per cent copper, 0.45 per cent lead, 10.1 per cent zinc, 0.64 grams per tonne gold and 78.9 grams per tonne silver.
At High Lake, where an Indicated and Inferred Mineral Resource has been declared, further drilling in 2025 has extended the AB Zone to the east. Extensional drilling was completed in six holes totalling 1,100 metres. Significant mineralisation was intersected in five of the six holes with the best results from hole HLR-25-385 from 11 metres, of 21 metres at 6.84 per cent copper, 0.02 per cent lead, 0.3 per cent zinc, 1.07 grams per tonne gold and 10 grams per tonne silver.
Regional reconnaissance and geological mapping were undertaken during the 2024 and 2025 field seasons, while fixed loop electromagnetic (FLEM) surveys were completed over nine targets in 2025. This program of work followed previously defined geophysical targets with a total of 44 targets visited and 1,825 rock samples taken. Of these, 168 samples reported significant mineralisation within 19 prospects. Eight new anomalies were detected from the FLEM surveys.
MMG look forward to returning to field work during the 2026 field season.
