MMG LXML Sepon extends support to Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry

On 16 March 2017, MMG LXML Sepon (LXML) extended a LAK 80,000,000 – Executive VIP membership contribution to the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LNCCI), to further develop capacity of the local private sector in Lao PDR.

Since 2000, LXML has contributed as a long-standing active member of the LNCCI; as an integral part of the company’s corporate, governance, and commercial activities as well as a significant investor, tax payer, and one of the largest industrial operations in the Lao PDR.

LNCCI, established in 1989, is an independent body representing the interests of the private sector and business community in the Lao PDR. LNCCI provides an important link between the public and private sector with over a thousand members in 15 provinces of Lao PDR.

With the support of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, LNCCI will organise the 10th Lao Business Forum under the Chairmanship of the Prime Minister to be taken place at the end of March 2017.

Mr Viboon Sithimolada, Corporate and Community Affairs Manager, LXML expressed that, “The partnership between LXML and LNCCI aims at supporting further capacity development of the local private business sector in Lao PDR, especially in the mining industry, promoting occupational health and safety, corporate social responsibility and the application of the environmental management best practices in Lao PDR and in the ASEAN Economic Community.”

Mr Daovone Phachanthavong, Vice President of LNCCI, expressed his great appreciation and gratitude to MMG LXML for its continuous contributions to the Lao business sector through LNCCI.
