MMG Limited (MMG) today advised that Mr Wang Lixin has resigned from his positions as Non-executive Director of the Board of MMG and Chairman of MMG South America Company Limited (the joint venture holding company for the Las Bambas Project).
Mr Wang has resigned to pursue separate business interests.
Mr Wang has been a Director of MMG since 2005 and also served as Chairman from 2011 to 2014. While he resigned as Chairman of the Board of MMG in August 2014, Mr Wang remained a Non-executive Director and member of the Company’s Remuneration and Nomination Committee.
Mr Wang was appointed as Chairman of MMG South America Management Company Limited in July 2014.
In announcing his decision, Mr Wang reflected on his involvement with MMG.
“During my time with MMG, I have seen the company earn its right to grow and transform – I am grateful to have been part of this transition and look forward to seeing the future growth of the Company,” Mr Wang said. “I would also like to acknowledge the support given to me by the Board of MMG and its shareholders.”
MMG Chairman Mr Jiao Jian said that Mr Wang had made an invaluable contribution to the Company.
“With his wealth of experience and dedicated leadership, Mr Wang was instrumental in driving MMG’s growth and transformation,” said Mr Jiao. “On behalf of the MMG Board, I would like to thank him for his invaluable contribution and wish Lixin well in his future endeavours.”
MMG has commenced the search to identify and recruit a successor to Mr Wang on the MMG Board.
